Our Work

Strengthening faith, building community, inspiring growth.

Our Initiatives

The Pembina Valley Islamic Society (PVIS) is dedicated to building a thriving, inclusive Muslim community in Morden. Through our mosque, educational programs, and various community initiatives, we aim to nurture faith, promote understanding, and foster growth across all ages and backgrounds. Here is a closer look at our ongoing work:

Morden Mosque

Our cornerstone project, the Morden Mosque, is a welcoming place for worship, reflection, and community gatherings. Designed to serve as a spiritual hub for Muslims in Morden and the surrounding areas, the mosque provides a space for regular prayers, Jumma (Friday) prayers, and community events. The mosque fosters unity, serving as a reminder of our shared faith and values. We are committed to making the Morden Mosque a vibrant center for all members, reflecting the inclusivity and compassion at the heart of Islam.

Educational Programs

PVIS values lifelong learning as an essential component of spiritual and personal development. Our educational programs offer classes and workshops in Quranic studies, Islamic history, and practical aspects of faith to deepen understanding and enrich the lives of our community members. Open to adults and families alike, these programs provide a space for thoughtful engagement and spiritual growth. Through these initiatives, we aim to empower our community to live with knowledge and confidence in their faith.

Women’s Council

The PVIS Women’s Council is dedicated to empowering Muslim women in our community through support, education, and engagement. This council creates a space for women to connect, learn, and contribute to the community through various programs and initiatives. From organizing educational sessions and social events to promoting women’s leadership, the Women’s Council plays an essential role in ensuring that every woman’s voice is valued and heard in our community.

Kids Program

Our Kids Program is designed to create a nurturing environment where young children can learn about Islam, build friendships, and grow in a supportive setting. Through engaging activities, Islamic storytelling, and age-appropriate lessons, we introduce children to the basics of faith and instill positive values. The Kids Program focuses on fostering a love for Islam and a sense of belonging from an early age, helping our youngest members build a foundation of faith and community.

Youth Program

PVIS’s Youth Program provides a welcoming space for teens and young adults to explore their faith, develop leadership skills, and form lasting friendships. Our program offers activities, discussions, and mentorship opportunities that address the unique challenges facing young Muslims. By encouraging self-discovery, resilience, and a deeper connection to faith, the Youth Program empowers our youth to lead meaningful lives and be positive contributors to both the Muslim community and broader society.
